Program Description

Event Details

We may not be able to meet in person at the Library, but that's no reason to stop crafting! For this month's simple book-binding craft, we will all use materials we have around the house and follow an instructional video available through CreativeBug, an online crafting website you can access with your library card! Make your craft anytime, then join your fellow Make & Take crowd for a show-and-tell style meetup via Zoom.

When you register for this event, we will email you a link to a Zoom meeting. If you need any help, please send us an email at cstream@cslibrary.org.

How to participate:

  1. Register for this event.
  2. Visit https://www.cslibrary.org/learn/creativebug and log in with your library card number and PIN.
  3. Search for "Kids Japanese Side Sewn" to see instructions and a video on the side sewn book binding technique.
  4. Make your craft, and show off your results in our Zoom meeting! We look forward to seeing your friendly faces and creative projects.

For this month's simple book-binding project, you will need:

  • Scissors
  • Plain paper
  • Thicker, decorative paper (even an old greeting card, calendar, or magazine cover)
  • Thick string, yarn, or cord (even an old shoelace will do)
  • A hole punch (or anything that can pierce through a small stack of papers)
