Why I wanted to be a Library trustee:
The library has always held a special place in my heart. One of my earliest memories is getting my library card and immediately checking out a stack of books, which I still do to this day. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members and the library staff to continue the library’s mission.
What I love about Carol Stream:
I love the community in Carol Stream. We live in a town filled with some of the most generous, loving individuals who always give back to our community.
Besides being a Board member, I'm involved in the community in the following ways:
I am a Wheaton Post VFW #2164 Auxiliary member, trustee, and avid volunteer. You can find me in the kitchen on Wednesdays for our burger night or running around at various events/fundraisers we host to support our local veterans. I am also the Secretary for the Carol Stream Woman’s Club and have been a member since 2024. In 2023, I got involved in the Relay for Bags Tournament, spearheaded by Trustee Matt McCarthy, and am a committee member.
My favorite thing about our library:
The vast selection of books and other materials. I’ve checked out physical books and read them on Hoopla, Libby, and Kindle. The library has become incredibly accessible, and I think that’s so important today.
My all-time favorite things to read, watch, or listen to:
You can find me reading a mystery or thriller on any given day. One of my favorite authors is Freida McFadden, and I am anxiously waiting for the new movie The Housemaid based on her best-selling novel. When I’m not curled up with a good book, I usually listen to the Mel Robbins podcast or 90s country.
