Why I wanted to be a Library trustee:
I grew up in a very small town in Michigan and thought the library was the most magical place around. Although I live in a much larger city, I still find the Carol Stream Library to be one of my favorite places. I want to be a trustee to help the library maintain the high quality services that people have come to expect.
What I love about Carol Stream:
Carol Stream is a safe and friendly town with wonderful schools, parks, and a great library.
Besides being a Board member, I'm involved in the community in the following ways:
Currently the library is my only involvement in Carol Stream but I’m also on the board of the Queen Bee Educational Fund.
My favorite thing about our library:
Now that I’m a grandmother, I really appreciate all the children’s programs. I also use inter library loan a lot.
My all-time favorite things to read, watch, or listen to:
I love historical fiction and psychological thrillers. In non-fiction, I read a lot of books about true crime, civil rights history, and the holocaust. My guilty pleasure is watching Amazing Race and Survivor.
