Thomas Arends was elected to his first term as a trustee in April 2007, and re-elected in 2011. His current term expires in 2015. Arends, a University of Notre Dame and DePaul graduate, is a local tax attorney in private practice. He has served on the Library’s Citizen Advisory Committee and the Referendum Committee. Jim Bailey
was born
in Memphis, TN, the youngest of ten children. He is married with four daughters. He is retired. First elected in 2005, the experience he brings to the Board includes
eight years in the U.S. Air Force, 50 years of work experience and 24 years as a resident of Carol Stream.
Re-elected in 2011, his current term will expire in 2013. He is also active with the Rotary Club
of Carol Stream and Heritage Presbyterian Church. He believes that the

Rob Douglas is an assistant state's attorney for DuPage County in the Civil Division. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a law degree from DePaul University. A trustee since 1986, he has served as president of the board for 12 years. His current term expires in 2013. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 2009, after 30 years of service at the rank of Colonel. During his career in the Army, he served active duty tours in both Bosnia and Iraq. Mary began serving on the board in January 2003 and her current term expires in 2013. Mary has a bachelor's degree in History and Anthropology from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University. Michael Wade was elected to his first term as library trustee in April 2009, and his current term expires in 2013. Currently, he is on the library’s finance committee and has made contributions and attended facilities committee meetings. He holds a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Buffalo State University. For the last 20 years, he has served as president and owner of Seaco Data Systems, Inc. With an extensive background in technology and business management, Wade believes these skills will benefit the library and help improve service to the community of Carol Stream. David DeRango was elected to his first term as library trustee in April 2011. His current term expires in 2015. He holds a bachelors degree in Business Management from Elmhurst College. He has over 18 years of experience in corporate level purchasing for the manufacturing industry plus over 14 years of retail management experience.
