Thomas Arends was elected to his first term as a Trustee in April 2007, and his term expires in 2009.

Jim Bailey
is Sales Director with Ultra Electronics Airport Systems. He was born
in Memphis, TN, the youngest of ten children and is now married and
has four daughters. The experience he brought to the Board in 2005 includes
eight years in the U.S. Air Force and 24 years of living in Carol Stream.
His term will expires in 2009. He is also active with the Rotary Club
of Carol Stream and Heritage Presbyterian Church. He believes that the

Rob Douglas is an
Assistant State's Attorney for DuPage County in the Civil Division.
He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
and a law degree from DePaul University. He has been a trustee since
1986 and served as president of the Board for 12 years. His current term
expires in 2009. He is a member of the United States Army Reserve and
most recently has served as the Economics/Legal Officer for the Coalition
Provisional Authority in Mosul Iraq. Being very active in the community,
Mr. Douglas brings his commitment to Carol Stream to the Board along
with his legal expertise. He was named Carol Stream Special Citizen

Mary became interested in serving on the Library Board as a direct result
of her experiences with the Library since moving to Carol Stream in
1992. She knows firsthand how important the relationship is between
the Library and the community it serves. She began serving on the board
in January 2003 and her current term expires in 2009. A Staffing Administrator
for Marshall Field's, Mary has a bachelor's degree in History and Anthropology
from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in Historic Preservation

Bob Ranck received his BS from Northern Illinois University. He brings
to the Library Board extensive experience in management of corporate
real estate, human resources and general operations. His current term expires in 2011. Mr. Ranck can be

Barbara is a project manager at Tellabs with over 30 years of
experience in the telecommunications industry. She has a bachelor's
degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she majored
in English and minored in Library Science. She was elected to her forth
term as a Trustee in April 2007, and her current term expires in 2011.
Ms. Siegman believes that the role of the library is to share information

At the April 2007 meeting, Leslie Shambo was appointed to fill a vacant trustee position. Shambo has a Master of Science degree in Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University and currently works as Marketing Coordinator for a suburban newspaper.
