Jim was born in Memphis, TN, and is the youngest of ten children. He is married to his wife Leigh, and has four daughters and four grandchildren. He has lived in Carol Stream for 32 years, and has been active in the Carol Stream Rotary Club as a member and Past President, while serving as an Elder at Heritage Presbyterian Church for more than 20 years. He is retired after a 50+ year career in the Computer industry and is an avid reader. Jim served eight years in the U.S. Air Force, and is a disabled veteran of the War in Vietnam. First elected in 2005, his current term will expire in 2015. He believes that the Library is a key asset in the village and is committed to making the library a destination for our community. Dr. Bonita Berryman-Gilliam aka Dr. Bonnie was elected to her first term as library trustee in April 2013. Her current term expires in 2017. She is a certified K-9 teacher and holds both Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. Her undergraduate degree was earned at University of Illinois at Chicago and her graduate degrees were earned at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, She is a certified professional development provider for the state of Illinois. She brings 30 years experience in education, psychotherapy, program development and research to the board. She is a 30 year resident of Carol Stream and a committed library advocate.

David DeRango was elected to his first term as library trustee in April 2011. His current term expires in 2015. He holds a bachelors degree in Business Management from Elmhurst College. He has over 18 years of experience in corporate level purchasing for the manufacturing industry plus over 14 years of retail management experience. Edward jourdan was elected to his first term as library trustee in April 2013 his term expires in 2017. The experience he brings to the board is 27 years of data management experience in the automotive industry and 31 years as a resident of Carol Stream. Nadia Sheikh was born in Minneapolis, MN, the eldest of 3 children. She is married with one daughter. Her credentials include a Masters in Health Administration and Certificate in the Management of Ambulatory Care Systems from the University of Southern California, School of Policy, Planning, and Development (USC) and a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is an avid reader and enjoys community service. Nadia is a member of the Friends of the Carol Stream Public Library and an active member of the Carol Stream Woman's Club. Nadia believes that "being elected as library trustee is a tremendous honor” and it is a responsibility she takes very seriously.
The ability to communicate effectively, orchestrate successful outcomes, manage time, and remain organized, has been vital in her previous roles as a Healthcare Administrator. From youth services to our senior population, all patrons deserve an advocate on the board. She encourages pursuing partnerships with local libraries in an effort to bringing new programs that our patrons will value and that are relevant to today's society.
